Absolutely! After placing your order, you can give the unregistered collection kit to a different individual than noted on the order. The collection kit can be registered by an individual other than the person who purchased. It is during the registration process that a collection tube is connected with a specific person.

The sample required for GeneusDNA analysis includes DNA from epithelial cells from your cheeks and mouth and white blood cells from your saliva. As the DNA in these cells will remain unchanged regardless of medical conditions in other parts of the body, you can provide your sample under varying health circumstances, including while you are pregnant, while you have a cold or the flu, and while you are taking common medications.

However, only one exception that we do not recommend taking the test is if you have received a bone marrow transplant using cells from a donor. As a bone marrow recipient, your blood cells will contain the DNA from your marrow donor, while your epithelial cells contain your own DNA. This frequently results in analysis failure.

Kit Usage

The DNA collection kits are painless and easy-to-use. If you order more than one kit, please make sure that each individual uses the collector from the kit they have registered or intend to register.

No blood is needed for our DNA Test. Samples are taken by rubbing the sponge provided (which attached to the tube) on the lower gums to collect cells and saliva. Then, insert the sponge into the tube and close tightly.

The collection and shipping process is composed of a few basic steps. Instructions are included in your collection kit.
Before preparing your sample for shipment, you will need to register your sample collection kit Your sample is stable at a wide range of temperatures once it is mixed with the DNA stabilizing liquid, but we recommend that you ship your collected sample to us at your earliest convenience.

The transportation supplies for your sample are included in your kit. Simply place the collection tube in the plastic bag, and then place the bag into the original box.

Return your sample by dropping the package off at any Thailand Postal Office. The box is already pre-paid and pre-addressed.
The collection kit includes stabilizing solution in the tube. This solution stabilized the DNA and prevents bacterial contamination. Buffered samples are stable at a wide range of temperatures (-20 ºC to 70ºC) for up to 2 months. Unused kits also remain stable even if exposed to temperatures in this range during transit or storage.

Sample tracking

Sample processing takes approximately 2-3 weeks from the time your sample is received at the lab. You can see the status of your sample by logging in to your GeneusDNA account.

In addition, you’ll receive email notifications when your results are complete and available to view within your online GeneusDNA account. You must log in to your GeneusDNA account on our secure portal to view your information.

Please note that processing time are estimates, and should not be considered a guarantee that your results will be returned by a particular date. While samples are processed in the order in which they are received, some samples may require additional steps to be processed successfully, therefore extending the processing time.
After you register your collection kit, your GeneusDNA profile homepage will display the status of your sample kit, from the time you register to the time you receive your results.

Once your results are ready, you will receive an email notification. You can then log in to your account on to access them.


After you receive your DNA Test kit, you can register your kit by navigating to the “Register” page on GeneusDNA website at or clicking “Register” button in the top right corner of homepage. The process takes only a few minutes.

Your Geneus Kit ID is printed directly on the side of your collection tube.

In the event that you mail your kit back without registering, you will be able to register your collection kit once it arrives at the lab. An email containing your kit ID will be sent to the email address used to place your order. Sample processing will not begin until registration is completed.
